From Digital Automation to Metadata Management Leadership: Product News from EVOLVE19

In case you missed EVOLVE19, ASG made waves by sharing three major product announcements in three days. As a company dedicated to other organizations’ transformations, ASG has had a very transformative year itself—growing its product portfolio and becoming a Leader in its market segments again. This is a quick recap of all the product news from our annual user conference.

Here is a detailed summary of the following announcements:
ASG-Zenith is ASG’s new digital automation platform, built to accelerate and simplify digitization initiatives. ASG-Zenith creates a new approach to process automation and includes multiple technologies—such as business process management (BPM), robotic process automation (RPA) and policy and content privacy—united through ASG-Studio, a single, common, visual design environment.
As digital transformation progresses, businesses are pressed to become more agile in developing their unique competitive business model. As more businesses automate their processes, they face the pressures of increasing demands to connect and transact through digital channels—all while complying with data privacy regulation. ASG-Zenith empowers organizations to
  • rapidly and seamlessly build flexible business solutions on top of common business services with out-of-box mobility, using a modern model-driven business platform
  • support privacy by design, enabling policy-decision management through the same common design environment, ASG-Studio
  • assemble, deploy and update automated processes without extensive technical training and specialized skills using ASG-Studio
Using ASG-Zenith, IT and business users can work together to leverage their respective knowledge of technology and the business to accelerate the delivery of automated processes.

Jeff Cherrington, VP of Product Management for Systems at ASG, said that ASG-PRO/JCL 3.5 is the most exciting release he’s been a part of since joining ASG. Why? ASG-PRO/JCL 3.5 can:
  • deliver superior Job Control Language (JCL) management with multiple interfaces
  • automate JCL error detection, standards enforcement and routine changes to ensure error-free batch processing
  • include DevOps integrations to strengthen any DevOps toolchain in an IBM z mainframe environment
As organizations adopt DevOps, they must be able to release new digital services and features at the speed of their customers’ needs and expectations. This requires streamlined processes that allow for continuous collaboration, development and improvement across the development, IT and business stakeholder teams. To address this challenge, ASG-PRO/JCL can be easily added to the DevOps toolchain. Leveraging the above capabilities, organizations can reduce time-to-value and increase returns on their technology investments.

A Trust-Centric Model for Data Intelligence
Trust was a major theme at EVOLVE19. To compete in the digital era, Chief Data Officers must deliver timely access to trusted data while remaining compliant, answering three questions: what data is availablewhere did it come from and what is the level of trust? While trust historically relied on data quality measures, this can lead to a partial and even biased understanding of data.

In response, ASG announced its new dynamic trust scoring capability for ASG Data Intelligence. The trust score institutes an insightful approach to help CDOs provide self-service access to trusted data. Utilizing a patent-pending trust model, ASG enables data consumers to better identify and understand available data and more readily evaluate its potential fit and value for both human and AI/ML-driven analytics.

2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Metadata Management Solutions
In addition to the product releases, ASG also announced that it was positioned by Gartner as a Leader in the October 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Metadata Management Solutions. The report provides a detailed overview of the enterprise metadata management market and evaluates 17 vendors based on completeness of vision and ability to execute. This year, ASG moved up and towards the right in the Leaders quadrant.
We believe Gartner’s placement of ASG in the Leaders quadrant demonstrates the market position of ASG’s automated data lineage, change management and impact analysis. ASG’s Data Intelligence 9.8 empowers users to find, understand and make use of valuable data assets within the ever-expanding volume of data today’s organizations must manage. We believe the continued recognition from Gartner is strong evidence of our leadership in metadata management.
