Know your Data, Know Your Business. ASG hosted Data Intelligence User Group Meeting in Germany

The ASG Data Intelligence User Group meeting, recently hosted in Eschborn, Germany, focused on providing our Customers and Partners with the knowledge needed to obtain maximum benefits from their ASG Data Intelligence (DI) implementation.

For those who missed out, here is a quick recap:

Customers and Partners heard about the new trends impacting the Metadata Management Market.  For example, the ASG CIO survey results really highlighted the importance of managing both defensive and offensive data strategies. Many CDO’s are taking their defensive experience to the offensive side of data management by delivering key data sets, Information Supply Chain collaboration, Machine Learning Model data dependencies, etc.

ASG Data Intelligence User Group meetingSue Habas, VP of Strategic Technologies at ASG, discussed the latest release of ASG Data Intelligence 9.8. ASG DI 9.8 delivers a broad set of innovative capabilities that address the changing data management requirements driven by digital transformation and regulatory compliance initiatives.  This new release is an integrated metadata management solution (including Data Governance) that delivers at scale to better enable defensive data initiatives that reduce risk and enable diverse stakeholders to use data catalogs to make better decisions faster.

The ASG Team presented the ASG Data Intelligence Product-Roadmap, Vision and Strategy – a must see if you missed that. ASG also conducted a ‘live’ product demo – showcasing some of the newest features & functionality in DI 9.8 – such as crowd sourcing business assets, tagged searches, new SAS Scanners, simplified report creation and much more.

Dr. Selvam Dhamotharan, Senior Manager at PPI AG, talked about Metadata Management as the success factor for all migration projects and illustrated how the ASG DI solution enabled Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (NORD/LB) to meet the demands of BCBS 239. With the ASG DI solution, NORD/LB can now efficiently document summaries, applications, processes and critical data elements. By being able to track and report data lineage, NORD/LB can quickly meet requests from regulatory authorities. Read more here.

Daniel Penner, Consultant at PPI AG, talked about “Agile development as part of a traditional software implementation” and as part of this slot provided the audience insights into the project at Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (NORD/LB)

Mr. Andrè Klemann from Finanz Informatik presented the success of ASG's Enterprise Metadata Repository and kicked of a meaningful discussion about the challenges of the application migration project at Finanz Informatik.

Overall, it was a fantastic networking event and sharing of best practices between DI users, ASG Professional Services and our Product Management Teams.
