ASG Recognized as a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Metadata Management

I’m very excited to share that Gartner has positioned ASG Data Intelligence (ASG DI) as a Leader in the 2020 Magic Quadrant for Metadata Management Solutions for the third year in a row.

We believe this recognition validates our industry position and investment in metadata management capabilities that can address both technical and business use cases. These use cases include privacy(CCPA, GDPR), compliance (BCBS 239, MIFID II, GLBA...), cloud migrations, application modernization, analytics and many others.

Your organization can use ASG DI to build a trusted foundation of intelligent data helping users trust and manage data. Using a broad range of functionality, including auto discovery, data lineage, reference data management and governance, you’ll be ready to meet today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.

We’re especially grateful and proud of our customers’ feedback.

Said one data leader in the manufacturing industry: “Impact analysis capabilities has been very helpful for retirement and enhancement projects. When a user identifies technical objects from impact analysis, they are able run data lineage to understand downstream and upstream impacts. The flexibility to import metadata from technologies that the vendor may not have. Business glossary integration to the metadata repository is a must because when items are defined by the business, we are able to understand the scope of proliferation with data lineage.”

From Metadata Management to Data Intelligence

As one of the most mature metadata management solutions in the marketplace, ASG coined the term data intelligence back in 2016. We use it to describe how our platform makes technical data “smarter” with end-to-end views of the data and its movements (data lineage) combined with business context – business definitions, data use policies, business rules, identification of personal data, data quality and more.

By adding context to data, metadata is no longer the exclusive provenance of IT data architects and administrators. Data value is unleashed by making it available, understood and trusted to users across your organization – data scientists, analysts, marketeers and more.

This metadata-driven foundation delivers the power to nimbly address data challenges—from risk and compliance to digital transformation initiatives like artificial intelligence and machine learning.

As your organization continues to gather data at a relentless pace and across an ever-expanding universe of technologies and sources, it’s crucial that your users can discover, understand, trust and access their data assets to drive business value.  A metadata management tool like ASG DI delivers data intelligence to drive greater usage of data for better customer experiences, wining business strategies, and more efficient operations.
