We are very excited to have ASG-PathPoint in our arsenal. Factual, execution-based analysis can lead to staggering productivity gains. Today’s business environment is dynamic, and ASG-PathPoint enables our customers to rapidly and cost-effectively adapt their mainframe applications to meet this environment."
- Arthur Allen, president & CEO of ASG
In June, 2004, ASG and PathPoint Software, provider of breakthrough execution-based analysis software for mainframe applications, announced a strategic partnership and future plans to extend the capabilities of ASG Applications Management products by integrating them with PathPoint’s tools for capturing execution-based applications processing information.
Under the terms of the agreement, ASG will market and distribute PathPoint Software’s mainframe application analysis and development productivity solution as ASG-PathPoint™. ASG-PathPoint’s technology and unique approach enable analysts, developers and testers to better understand how mainframe applications really “work” — at runtime, as business transactions are executed. ASG-PathPoint cuts mainframe application analysis and testing time by 50 percent or more and does not require any changes to application source code.
"Fact-based analysis dramatically reduces project time while increasing accuracy," said Tom Cushing, CEO of PathPoint Software. "Nearly 80 percent of corporate mainframe application budgets are devoted to maintenance — primarily because it takes so much time to understand how these applications work. PathPoint’s unique approach resolves this problem by discovering information about applications as they execute."
Among its many features and benefits, ASG-PathPoint:
| Enables users to better analyze and understand mainframe applications | |
| Reduces application analysis time by up to 50 percent | |
| Provides a standard method for knowledge transfer | |
| Offers a best practices, repeatable approach to analysis | |
| Reduces project costs by at least 20 percent |
